This policy explains what information Jersey Intel (jerseyintel.com) collects when you visit the site or contact us, and how we use it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how many people read our stories and how they find them. GA4 uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages viewed, time on site, approximate location (city or region), device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We use this information only in aggregate to improve our reporting and the site. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Our site uses analytics cookies set by Google Analytics and the basic cookies WordPress needs for the site to work. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work for reading stories.
Tip form and contact form
If you use our Tip Us form or contact form, we receive what you choose to send: your message, any files you upload, and any name, email address or callback details you provide. Names and contact details are optional on the tip form. Submissions are delivered to our newsroom email and stored on our website so we can follow up. We use tips only for reporting, and we do not publish a tipster’s identity without consent. The form is sent over a secure (HTTPS) connection, but it is not an encrypted drop box, so remove sensitive metadata from files where you can.
If you email us at jerseyintel@gmail.com, we receive your email address and message. We use it to respond and for reporting, and we keep correspondence as part of our newsroom records.
We don’t sell your data
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site (our web host and Google Analytics) or when the law requires it.
Embedded content
Stories may include embedded video, audio or posts from other sites (such as YouTube, X or the Internet Archive). Those sites may collect data about you as if you visited them directly, under their own privacy policies.
