Have a tip about New Jersey government contracts, courts, elections, corruption, or related public-integrity stories? Jersey Intel wants to hear from you.
Anonymous tips are OK. We never require your name. We always ask for some verification path — optional email or secure callback, a document upload, a way we can confirm via OPRA/public records, or an honest acknowledgment that the tip may be unverifiable. Dead-end tips with zero way to check anything still arrive, but we flag them as unverifiable.
Privacy: We do not publish tipster identity without consent. Tips are reviewed by the newsroom (Julio / Jersey Intel). This page uses a standard web form over HTTPS that emails the newsroom — it is not a SecureDrop or encrypted dead-drop. Encrypted email may come later; until then, strip metadata from files when you can and use a burn/Proton address if you need extra distance.
Whistleblower guide — what to include
- Documents: contracts, emails, invoices, meeting minutes, OPRA responses, screenshots (strip EXIF if sensitive).
- Dates: when the decision happened, when money moved, filing deadlines, hearing dates.
- Who benefits: vendors, officials, relatives, shell companies — and who should be asked for comment.
- How we can verify: public docket numbers, OPRA request IDs, links to agendas, or a secure way to reach you for follow-up.
- What you saw vs. what you heard: first-hand vs. second-hand helps us weigh the tip.
After you submit, you will get a case / reference code (format JI-YYYYMMDD-XXXX). Save it. Cite it if you contact us again.
